Who we are
CheeryChats is a personalized and community weekly connection service and online learning community for older adults, dedicated to combating feelings of loneliness, and supporting a sense of joy and purpose! Our weekly individualized calls and CheeryChats Community zoom sessions, are comprised of positive interactions and weekly Purpose Assignments. Our unique Purpose Assignments provide older adults with engaging, uplifting opportunities to explore hidden talents, discover new passions, and enrich daily life in fun and meaningful ways. CheeryChats are a way to foster a sense of belonging and purpose, both instrumental in supporting connection and an increased sense of self. Feeling connected and having supportive relationships can counteract these effects of loneliness, helping to support protection from health issues and promote well-being.
In addition to sessions, CheeryChats developed CheeryChat Classes to offer cognitive enrichment and foster creativity. These virtual classes, including art appreciation, creative writing, chair yoga, and more, are designed to help older adults stay mentally active, explore new hobbies, and share their experiences. Both CheeryChats and CheeryChat Classes aim to empower older adults by celebrating their life stories, interests, and passions, while offering joy and connection in their daily lives.

Our mission
At CheeryChats, our mission is to combat the feelings of loneliness and isolation that may affect older adults, fostering a sense of connection and community through regular and meaningful contact. We believe that consistent social interaction and supporting a sense of purpose are a vital part of maintaining emotional well-being, especially for those who may feel isolated due to physical limitations, distance from loved ones, or changing social environments.
Through our programming, we aim not only to reduce feelings of loneliness but also to inspire cognitive engagement. We focus on purposeful activities, which include memoir writing, discussing art, starting a yoga practice, and encouraging the telling of personal stories. These activities stimulate cognitive function, help maintain memory, and foster a sense of purpose and joy. By promoting conversation and connection, CheeryChats creates a supportive environment where older adults feel valued, heard, and mentally stimulated.
Our aim is to build a bridge that connects people, fosters community, and enriches lives—one conversation at a time.
